Sixteen child labourers rescued

The Commissioner’s Task Force (South) team along with the Rein Bazaar police rescued 16 children working in a bangle-making unit in Yakutpura on Tuesday. Three persons - Mohd Akram, Mohd Saddam, and Mohd Azghar - who employed them, were arrested.

The accused persons, who are natives of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, brought children from different villages in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar and employed them in the bangle-making unit. The trio were making them work for long hours and deprived them of proper food and accommodation, the police said.

On a tip off, the police along with volunteers of Pratham Council for Vulnerable Children rescued them from the bangle-making unit at Waheed Colony in Yakutpura. The accused persons were handed over to S.H.O., Rein Bazaar police station, for further investigation.
