Madannapet police on Thursday unravelled the mystery behind the murder of an auto rickshaw driver, committed two days ago at local Darabjung colony, by arresting the victim’s brother-in-law and two others.

Mohd. Younus (25) was passing by Madarsa Islamia Markaz ul Uloom on his scooter on Tuesday afternoon when his brother-in-law Syed Firadouse and the latter’s associates, Nazeeb Ur Rahman and Mohd. Jameel, intercepted him. They attacked him with an iron rod and bricks killing him on the spot and fled.

Investigation revealed that Younus married Firadouse’s sister after his first wife deserted him. He suspected that his second wife had relationship with Rahman. He had warned Rahman on this issue earlier. “Once he attacked his father-in-law with a knife after an argument over family matters. Firadouse bore grudge against him and planned to eliminate him,” the Santoshnagar ACP S. Sai Krishna said.
