Three flats burgled as inmates go to temple

Thieves took away gold ornaments weighing 570 grams, Rs. 70,000 and some silver articles after breaking into three flats at Lingojiguda in Saroornagar after the inmates went to temple during Sri Ramanavami festival on Saturday.

According to Inspector K. Narsing Rao, thieves entered the apartment building during daytime and broke open locks of the three flats.

Meanwhile, Sethab Kumar, who drove the Skoda in a ‘drunken condition’, killing a woman techie at a traffic junction in Gachibowli two days ago, continued to evade the police. The condition of her husband, Harish Prasad, continued to be critical. He was shifted from Himagiri Hospital to Apollo Hospital.

Rs. 5.30 lakh stolen from bus passenger

Rs. 5.30 lakh was stolen from a passenger while he was boarding Miryalaguda-bound RTC bus at Dilsukhnagar bus depot on Saturday. The victim, M. Krishnadanam, told the police that he carried a bag and got into the bus. After occupying a seat, he found a hole on the rear side of the bag and realised that the cash was stolen.
