Three days after suicide bid near Raj Bhavan, man succumbs

A private employee from Kadapa district who was undergoing treatment after he consumed pesticide near Raj Bhavan three days ago died on Sunday.

D. Pavan Kumar (29) reportedly attempted suicide over a dispute with an LIC agent on Friday. A note the man was carrying with him stated that he paid Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 7.4 lakh on different dates to an insurance company agent Rammohan of Kadapa a few years ago. But the man refused to return his money despite repeated request.

The private employee stated in the note that he had met the then Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy in August last and submitted a memorandum seeking return of his money.

Security personnel rushed him to Gandhi Hospital for treatment where he succumbed on Sunday morning. Meanwhile Punjagutta police informed his family about the death.

“We will take further action basing on the complaint of the family members,” Punjagutta Inspector, S. Mohan Kumar said.
