Threat to MP: 3 held

Three persons who allegedly tried to extort Rs. 25 crore from Chevella MP K. Vishweshwar Reddy after sending him a threatening email were arrested by the police on Saturday. The trio, through the email, threatened to lodge a complaint with the Election Commission of India saying that Mr. Reddy had filed false affidavits while contesting the recent Parliament elections.

Vehicles set ablaze

Unidentified persons allegedly set on fire five motorcycles parked in front of a building at Rajiv Gruhakalpa colony under Jeedimetla police station limits early on Saturday. Police ruled out any communal angle to the incident.

60 children rescued

The city police rescued another 60 children from different places in Old City. The raids were conducted at Falaknuma area from where 42 children were rescued from a school bag making unit, the remaining from vehicle repair workshops and other places. Those rescued from the bag making unit hail from West Bengal, police added.

One held for circulating clips of ‘Bahubali’

The Hyderabad Cyber Crime police on Saturday arrested a person on charge of unlawfully circulating video clips of ‘Bahubali’ movie on social networking sites. The man, B.V.V.L.N. Varma, 35, of Mothi Nagar while working with Muktha visual efforts company, copied the movie clips and uploaded it on social networking sites, the police said.

Man murdered

A 19-year-old businessman, Nayeem, was found murdered at Chandanagar on Saturday, the police said. On Saturday morning, his body was found with wounds near Gopinagar Lake by locals.
