An unidentified youngster, who reportedly attempted to break into an apartment building at Banjara Hills, died after falling from its top floor, police said on Saturday.
The watchman of the four-storied Padmaja Residency on road No. 2 of Banjara Hills saw the stranger’s body with head injuries lying on the ground at around 6.30 a.m.
Banjara Hills Inspector P. Murali Krishna said the youngster had evidently gone up the stairs of the building. Doors to all flats on the top floor were closed.
“Apparently, he tried to enter one of the flats through the window by crawling down the overhead tank pipe and slipped,” Mr. Murali Krishna said.
A pair of shoes, believed to belong to the youngster, was found on the terrace. A plaster was wrapped around his right hand. Investigators said he might have done so to ensure his fingerprints were not found at the crime scene.
A case of suspicious death was registered.
