Tejaswini. G is from Chada in Nalgonda district and Anjum Begum, Jajapur and P. Vinay Kumar from Kotakonda in Mahbubnagar district and B. Prithviraj from Champapet in adjoining Ranga Reddy. What could be common to these two girls and boys and about 90 others?
They are all hard-working students of Zilla Parishad High Schools in the rural areas with hope in their hearts, who excelled in academics, got 10 on 10 grade point average in the SSC examination.
Thanks to the Vandemataram Foundation here, they were treated to a bird’s eye view literally, of the Twin Cities as they were flown around in small three and four-seater Cessna aircraft all through Monday morning and noon.
“It has been an annual event of the foundation for the past eight years and we think these kids deserve to be treated to something that their peers from rural areas can only dream of.
A plane ride is thrilling no end to these young minds that think that the sky is the limit.
"So with logistic support from Flytech Aviation Academy, Gurramguda here, we reward students who prove that with willpower and dedication, they can be change agents in their communities,” says Anil Nalanda, of the Vandemataram Foundation.
If the plane rides thrilled them, they found that their interaction with Deputy Inspector-General of Police (Hyderabad) Akun Sabharwal was no less exciting as the officer gave them an overview of what it meant to be in Government service.
The officer flew with the kids on a sortie in a Cessna 4-seater too!
