The Hindu Eplus Club Challenge

Participating colleges can register the names of students for each discipline till February 17

Preparatory meeting of the inter-collegiate event “The Hindu Eplus Club Challenge 2013”, held on Thursday, saw the participation of 40 invited colleges where the representatives were explained the motto and the platform it provided to unearth students’ latent talents.

The Hindu Eplus Club Challenge is a state-level competition held in three regions - Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Vishakapatnam- and this month the State final is slated to be held at Vijayawada on February 24. The inter-collegiate event tests students in five disciplines - group discussion, quiz, elocution, paper presentation and creative activity on various parameters. Grafx IT Solutions Pvt. Ltd is the knowledge partner.

The Hyderabad regional event, sponsored by the Teegala Krishna Reddy College of Engineering and Technology, Meerpet, will be held on February 20 on its premises. The 2012 event was also hosted by the same college that saw the participation of teams from 43 colleges.

Explaining the concept, S. Nagesh Kumar, Chief of Bureau, The Hindu , said the newspaper saw great potential among youngsters, but few platforms where they could compete with their peers from different areas and streams. “Academic excellence alone will not suffice and we need to encourage students in co-curricular activities,” he said. He added that the top three teams from regional-level ‘Challenges’ to be held at Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad would go on to compete at the State-level grand finale to be held in Vijayawada.

The participants’ doubts were cleared at the meeting. Varaprasad Reddy, Director, TKR Group of Institutions also spoke. Colleges have to register online on the website ‘www.epluschallenge.com’ that has been designed to cater to all the information related to the event. Participating colleges have to register the names of students for each discipline of events. Registration of names can be made till February 17. Login ID and password will be sent to the individual colleges.
