An education fair in a true international sense beckoned the youngsters and the parents of Hyderabad on Sunday. At the ‘International Education Fair 2015’ organised by The Hindu Education plus, the credible and top education providers from Europe, North America, Australia and Asia came together to give the best possible education counselling to those aspiring to study abroad.
Through two dozen stalls and eight live seminars, exhaustive information was provided to the audience ranging from courses to visa requirements to education market trends. The event was attended by more than 800 students.
The day started with seminars on the UK, the US and Holland education with a large number of undergraduate and graduate students in attendance. The afternoon sessions included seminar on Switzerland, Singapore, Latvia, Australia and Canada Education. Through lively presentations, videos and statistics, the students got first hand information on the prevailing conditions in the education sector and the newer opportunities.
“I have attended a lot of education fairs, but this event was organised very well,” said Musab Khan, a final year engineering student who was accompanied by his friend. “It was a good platform to know all the details regarding my Masters course. Even the counsellors were very patient and friendly. The best part is I have learnt about new courses and colleges without going to any consultancy, which are often commercial.”
The stalls also made the participants aware about some evolving education destinations in Eastern and central Europe. “Engineering in Latvia is cheaper than India,” said Deepinder Bawa, CEO, Indo European Educational Services Pvt. Ltd. “Studying in Latvia gives students more exposure besides experiencing good teaching standards. Presently, there are 400 students from India studying in Latvia in various courses like engineering, business and medicine.”
The seventh edition of the fair also saw parents zeroing in on the colleges for their wards. “I was impressed by a UK university and have decided to send my daughter there,” said K. Lakshmi Priya, a parent of a graduate. “We have taken the details of the documents to be submitted and will apply shortly. We are glad we attended the fair.”
The day-long fair, which was open for all, was held at Taj Vivanta, Begumpet.
