A new world was opened up and the opportunities that lay beyond the Indian shores were exposed to the students and parents on the second day of The Hindu Education Plus International Education Fair at the Taj Vivanta hotel on Sunday.
Hundreds of students walked in to find out what courses were offered in various countries and the modes of admission, academic standards, scholarship facilities and the lifestyle in those countries.
Suitable courses
They interacted with the officials representing various universities and academic institutions trying to understand what courses suited their interests as specialisations were galore.
Informative sessions on education in USA, UK, Australia, Canada and Latvia were thronged by the students where representatives made power point presentations on aspects related from admissions to jobs in those countries.
US as a destination
The session on US visas was the sought-after one indicating how students considered US as their favourite destination.
Officials from US Consulate in Hyderabad dispelled some myths on visa issuance stating that it was not as complicated as students think. Candidates need to convince the visa officer on their intention to return to India once they completed the course.
Officials also warned the students not to use fake documents as it may make them ineligible to enter into the US forever. Good academic track record and strong financial position would always favour the students.
With the Australian Government simplifying visa norms, focus is now back on Australian education and students looked particularly interested in science courses there.
The University of Windsor stall too had a lot of visitors. Officials from National Aerospace University in Ukraine explained the facilities in Aero Space Engineering courses and how the course was taken by students from across the world.
