Tension in Falaknuma

May 13, 2013 11:23 pm | Updated June 13, 2016 01:52 am IST - HYDERABAD:

A minor road accident involving two vehicles driven by members of two different communities resulted in tension at Falaknuma on Monday evening.

The police said that an Innova and a Scorpio coming from opposite directions brushed against each other on the Quadri Chaman road at Falaknuma. It led to both drivers getting into an argument and trading blows.

Soon people from either communities started congregating in large numbers at the site but before things could take an ugly turn, the police swung into action and dispersed the crowd.

Police pickets were also posted at vulnerable places in the area to thwart any further clashes.

Later, senior police officials also visited the area. A power outage in the area also led to suspicions of sabotage but the APCPDCL authorities attributed the power disruption to a technical problem.
