Mild tension prevailed at Hafeezpet on Wednesday when a team of GHMC Town Planning wing tried to demolish unauthorised constructions at Premnagar. Local people, along with public representatives, gathered at the spot and protested their move. Later, Serilingampally Legislator A. Gandhi and local corporators intervened and asked the authorities stop the work for the time being, the GHMC officials said. The GHMC team could demolish only three houses in the area.

“A total of nine houses have to be demolished for construction without securing permissions. We will take up the drive again,” Assistant City Planner, Circle 11, Narsimha Reddy said.
