May 29, 2014 11:27 pm | Updated 11:27 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

Telangana Secretariat employees boycotted work here on Thursday in support of the bandh opposing the ordinance merging seven mandals of Khammam district with Andhra Pradesh.

Sravankumar Reddy of Telangana Employees’ JAC said the BJP which criticised the UPA government for dividing the State without proper deliberations now brought the ordinance to facilitate Polavaram project, endorsing the decision of UPA.

M. Narender Rao, president of Telangana Secretariat Employees’ Association, said it was wrong on the part of the Centre to promulgate an ordinance when there was no representative from Telangana in the Union government for changing the boundaries of the State.
