‘Telangana leads in Indra Dhanush programme’

Chief Secretary S.P. Singh informed the Secretary of Ministry of Health C.K. Misra that Telangana was the best performing State in the last two years in implementation of Mission Indra Dhanush to immunise infants below two years of age and pregnant women.

The infant mortality rate in the State in 2015 was 28 per 1,000 live births and the maternal mortality rate per one lakh live births in 2011-13 was 92, Mr. Singh said when Mr. Misra called on him at the Secretariat during the latter’s visit to the city.

Mr. Misra reviewed with Mr. Singh and Principal Secretary of Medical and Health Rajeswar Tiwari programmes in the State connected with National Urban Health Mission, disease control, mother and child health and health services in the State.

Mr. Tiwari reminded the visiting official that the State got 221 additional post-graduate medical seats. He explained IT-enabled services like auxiliary nursing midwives on-line, e-Aushadi, e-health records and biometric attendance in hospitals.
