Telangana lawyers to continue ongoing agitation

Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Advocates on Saturday decided to continue its ongoing agitation demanding recall of the provisional list of judicial officers’ recruitment and bifurcation of High Court.

The agitation with the main demand to drop or recall the provisional list of judicial officers recruited for different courts in Telangana started on June 6. At a meeting held at Nampally Criminal Courts Complex, the T-JAC of lawyers decided to continue the agitation till July 2. On June 24, Chalo Hyderabad would be organised. “Advocates from all districts of Telangana would take part in it. They would stage demonstration at Indira Park and discuss the issue,” Advocates T-JAC co-convenor T. Ranga Rao said. Lawyers would take part in Ghantaravam (ringing of bell) at courts as part of the agitation on June 20. On June 21, they would chain and present themselves before courts to highlight their demand.

The next day, advocates would stage demonstrations before district collectorates. The next day processions would be taken out near the courts.
