Telangana Cabinet ratifies govt. decisions

These include appointing 4 parliamentary secys; setting up the Kaloji Narayan Rao University of Health Sciences at Warangal and construction of a Christian Bhavan.

The Telangana State Cabinet has ratified the decision of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to appoint four parliamentary secretaries. An ordinance would be promulgated soon to make the appointments.

The Cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister in Hyderabad on Friday also ratified the government decisions to set up the Kaloji Narayan Rao University of Health Sciences at Warangal, construction of a Christian Bhavan at a cost of Rs. 10 crore and declaring January 1 as a holiday. The employees have to work on a second Saturday in lieu of the holiday on January 1.

The meeting, which went on for about an hour, was attended by all Ministers except K.T. Rama Rao, who is away in Delhi, and T. Nageswara Rao.

Sources stated that the Chief Minister has also agreed to allot 5 acres of land to a BC Bhavan in Banjara Hills.

The Chief Minister later called on ailing former Speaker P. Ramachandra Reddy, at his residence in S.R. Nagar.
