Senior BJP leaders of Telangana led by State president G. Kishan Reddy on Wednesday met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and party president Amit Shah at New Delhi to complain about undemocratic method adopted by TRS in promoting defections from other parties.

They informed Mr. Singh that the sarpanches, MPTC members and elected representatives of other parties were threatened into joining the TRS. Commercial Taxes Minister T. Srinivas Yadav continued in the Cabinet without resigning from Assembly as a member of TDP.

On Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s grouse that Prime Minister Narendra Modi never visited Telangana so far, the BJP leaders brought to Mr. Singh’s notice that the State government never made any request to the PMO to facilitate Mr. Modi’s visit. They discussed the political situation in the State with Mr. Singh, Mr. Shah and Parliamentary Affairs Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu.
