Telangana Aam Aadmi Party to form GHMC committee

With GHMC elections round the corner, the Telangana Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is out to win the confidence of city voters.

The party, on Thursday, announced the formation of a committee for the Greater Hyderabad area.

The committee consists of representatives from each of the 18 Assembly constituencies who will extensively campaign and highlight problems of the areas under them. The party announced that the names of in-charge members of the remaining six Assembly constituencies that fall under Greater Hyderabad region will also be announced soon.

At a press meet in the city, the party members said that there are innumerable issues plaguing the city. “We will study and analyse problems of the people and these issues will be brought to the notice of the government,” said Namrata Jaiswal, GHMC Convenor, AAP.

“We have been talking to people in different areas across the city. There are a number of civic issues including terrible water shortage.

In Maheshwaram mandal and other parts, residents are not getting water even once in 15 days. Consumer charges for using electricity in Telangana are one of the highest in the country and the healthcare system is being ignored , she said.

The party members said they will chalk out an action plan on putting pressure on the government to act on the issues which need utmost attention.
