A 16-year-old committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence, apparently over ‘love failure,’ police said on Monday.

The boy, V. Abhishek Reddy, a resident of MS Maqtha in Punjagutta, completed Intermediate from a private junior college in SR Nagar and was undergoing training for CPT, first-level of Chartered Accountancy examinations.

On Monday at around 4.30 a.m., the victim's father went to wake him and found his bedroom bolted from inside. Abhishek’s body was found when the father broke open the door, said D. Srikanth Goud, Punjagutta Sub-Inspector.

Police found a suicide note, purportedly written by Abhishek, which said he did not want to live and mentioned a girl with whom he was deeply in love.

A case was registered and the body was shifted to Gandhi Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Teams formed

Police formed four teams to nab the suspect in the murder case of G. Sulochana, who was killed and robbed at her residence in Jupiter Colony.

Trimulgherry inspector R. Rajeshwara Rao said police are looking for Arun Kumar (25), the woman’s domestic help.

The victim was killed when her husband Kanta Rao (75), who was bedridden due to paralysis, was sleeping.

“Teams will be sent to Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Mahbubnagar and Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri districts to nab Kumar,” Mr Rao said. The suspect is a native of Dichpally in Nizamabad district and was earlier accused of killing his friend at Armoor in 2016.

Meanwhile, the police are also analysing the video footages of surveillance cameras in the area for clues.

In one of the video footages, Kumar was seen with a woman clad in saree before boarding an auto rickshaw outside the Jupiter Colony.

The couple were living in the Nehru Laya Enclave in Jupiter colony for the past several years and had hired Arun Kumar on May 7 as their attendant.
