A software professional, who allegedly circulated obscene emails about his wife after she walked out on learning that he was already married, was arrested by police on Monday.
The accused, Nanda Kumar Jai of Bellary in Karnataka, posted his profile on shaadi.com claiming to be a bachelor working in London as software professional.
A woman from Guntur settled in America, who was also working for an IT company, and her family members believed his claims.
Eventually, their match was fixed and the couple got married. “The woman was actually a green card holder, but decided to live in Hyderabad having married him. After the marriage, she learnt that Jai was already married to another woman who is living in London,” the CID officials who investigated the case said. The accused also had a son through the first marriage. He quit the job and depended on his wife’s job to live in London. After developing differences with his wife on family matters, he flew to Hyderabad and started looking out for a second alliance. “He was quite outgoing and impressed the green card holder and married her keeping her in the dark about his first marriage,” the police said. On learning about his first marriage, the woman questioned Jai who tried to convince that he wanted to live with her and divorced his first wife in London. But the NRI decided to desert him. Having persuaded her in vain not to split up with him, Jai started sending emails with objectionable content about his wife to her friends to harass her.
The woman approached the CID officials who registered a criminal case and arrested him.
