A software engineer working for a top IT company went missing from Madhapur here on Saturday night. The techie, Manas Ranjan Sai, hailing from Bhuvaneshwar, went to purchase railway tickets, but failed to return home. Family members enquired with his friends and colleagues, but in vain. Based on a compliant lodged by his wife, a missing case has been registered by the Raidurgam police, and a search is on to find him.

Meanwhile, the Cyberabad police on Sunday booked a case against a 24-year-old woman for consuming sleeping pills at her house at Manikonda.

Raidurgam Inspector A. Balakoti said a case under Section 309 (attempt to commit suicide) of IPC was registered against the woman and further investigations are on. She recently applied for a job as a software engineer in a MNC at Madhapur. She reportedly told the police that she consumed sleeping pills as she was unable to sleep on Saturday night and was rushed to the Osmania General Hospital after developing health problems.
