April 26, 2014 01:19 am | Updated May 21, 2016 01:22 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has exuded confidence that the BJP-TDP combine would put up sterling performance in Seemandhra region but was sceptical about the same in Telangana.

Stating that his interaction with a cross section of people particularly the Telugu Association of Goa, which is quite strong, Mr. Parrikar said it was clear that BJP-TDP alliance would work wonders in Seemandhra. Coupled with Narendra Modi wave and TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu’s image, the two parties are set to put up impressive performance in Seemandhra.

Addressing a press conference ahead of an interaction with captains of the industries and intellectuals as part of a programme organised by ‘Friends of BJP’ here on Friday, the Goa Chief Minister said a series of poll surveys and reports suggested that Mr. Modi was clearly emerging as the front runner for the Prime Minister post.

He said the BJP would get comfortable majority of its own in the general elections to form the NDA government. He said spontaneous response from a large number of people in Varanasi when Mr. Modi filed his nomination on Thursday amply demonstrated the changing mood of the electorate.

He said that the crowd was not mobilised or stage managed.
