TDP prefers to retain name, bicycle symbol

May 28, 2015 11:50 am | Updated 03:02 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu on Thursday maintained that Telugu Desam Party would prefer to retain the same name as also its bicycle symbol when the party contests seats in other States to emerge as a national party.

Talking to media at Gandipet, the venue of Mahanadi-2015, he did not foresee any problem although Samajwadi Party has the same symbol. He said that there would not be any clash as the SP did not have any “existence” here and there was protection for TDP’s bicycle symbol here.

The party intended to contest from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Odisha and Pondicherry, he added.

Mr. Ramakrishnudu is the chairman of the committee constituted by the TDP to work out details for the organisation to expand to other States and transform into a national party.
