The Telugu Desam Party Telangana State unit has demanded that the Government implementation of the provisions under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act of 2013 while acquiring land for the Mallannasagar project.
TDP Polit bureau member Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy said it was unfortunate that the Government was trying to invoke the provisions under the State Act (G.O. Ms. 123) for forcibly acquiring land from farmers. While farmers were raising concerns over the acquisition, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao were speaking in different voices over the process that had been adopted for the purpose.
