The Telugu Desam Party corporators led by their floor leader, Singireddy Srinivas Reddy, on Tuesday staged a dharna at Mayor Mohammed Majid Hussain’s office in GHMC head office, demanding immediate steps to improve the sanitation works in the city in view of the monsoon season.

In a memorandum submitted to the Mayor, the TDP corporators wanted the sanitation initiatives to be stepped up across all the wards and nala cleaning taken up to avoid the possibilities of diseases spreading during the rainy season.

“Even the roads are in a bad shape and nothing is done to improve the conditions by the civic body. We want immediate actions and works to commence to ensure hardships to the citizens are avoided,” Mr. Reddy said.
