Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will launch a major recruitment drive during 2010-11 by visiting colleges and other campuses in December and January.
Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of TCS N. Chandrasekaran, when asked about the intake, said “it “may not be as big as in the current year, but it won’t be too less either”. Company officials would visit campuses during the next two months and screen the students in their eighth semester of engineering and final semester of management courses.
Global Head of HR Ajoy Mukherjee said TCS had offered employment to 24,885 graduates in the current fiscal. Of them, 1,500 had joined work, another 8,000 were likely to join the company by the end of third quarter while the rest would be absorbed by March.
Mr. Mukherjee said TCS had an attrition rate of 11.5 per cent during the last 12 months but, at the same time, its retention rate was the highest in the industry. The company had a workforce of about 1.41 lakh.
