Investigators believe that Shiva Kumar, prime suspect in the murder of M.Ed. student P. Aruna, has fled the State.

Police teams on the lookout for him had searched several places, including the houses of his friends, relatives and acquaintances in Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy and Medak districts. His mobile phone call data analysis indicated that he fled the State and was taking shelter somewhere to evade the police.

“We’re trying to find out with whom Kumar spoke first soon after killing the woman and whose help he would have taken to escape,” the investigators said.

Meanwhile, students took out a procession from Arts College demanding the immediate arrest of the culprits in the murder case.

The rally was not allowed beyond Andhra Mahila Sabha College arch and the protesters were taken into custody. They were let off later.
