If the Congress comes to power in the 2019 elections, it will implement a compensation scheme for unemployed graduates whereby they will receive ₹3,000 a month, said party leader and former minister, P. Sudarshan Reddy.

The party will also ensure minimum support price for maize, paddy, turmeric, red jowar and pulses among other crops, promised Mr. Reddy.

Addressing the Congress’ extended meeting in Bodhan town on Wednesday, he said the ruling TRS party has left the youth, with whose support it formed the government, in the lurch.

He also criticised the TRS for launching programmes and schemes “only for its political advantage”.

The ex-Minister pointed out that the farming community in the State was in deep crisis with no support price for their produce. He demanded that the government purchase all crops through its agencies to help farmers.

On the occasion, about 400 youths joined the Congress in his presence. District Congress Committee president Taher Bin Hamdan and Bodhan MPP president Ganga Shankar were present.
