Student murdered; cash, gold stolen

Unidentified miscreants killed a 19-year-old youngster and decamped with Rs. 5 lakh cash and one kilogram of gold on Sunday afternoon, the police said.

The victim identified as Siva Kumar, a student pursuing his graduation and resident of Habeebnagar, was alone at home when the murder was committed. The victim used to stay along with his grandparents — Pochamma and Yellaiah — who deal with construction material business, according to the police.

Siva Kumar was strangled to death, the police added.
