An eighth standard student ended his life by hanging at Bowenpally on Tuesday after his mother reportedly chided him for absenting from the school.

The body of M. Krishna Mohan (16) was found hanging to the ceiling in his house at Bapujinagar in the afternoon. No suicide note was found. The boy had not gone to the school for the last three days, and his mother Yadamma reprimanded him in the morning for not attending the classes, Bowenpally Sub-Inspector Srinivas said.

The boy’s father Ramulu, a flower vendor, and Yadamma, a maid, went for work in the morning. They found their son dead on returning home in the afternoon.

A case of suspicious death was registered.
