GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar on Wednesday described the strike call given by the Bhagyanagar Municipal GHMC Employees’ Union from midnight as ‘inappropriate’ in view of the festivals and monsoon season.

In a statement issued here, he said the issue of salary enhancement was being seriously pursued with the government and asked the unions to cooperate with the civic body and avoid inconvenience to the citizens.

ESMA and RP Act

The Zonal and Deputy Commissioners were asked to deploy vehicles at every ward and ensure that the city was clean. A series of measures, including action under ESMA and RP Act would be initiated if required.
