Srinivas Yadav and Jayasudha locked in an indirect battle in Secunderabad Assembly constituency
Former Minister T. Srinivas Yadav of Telugu Desam and actress Jayasudha of Congress are once again involved in a pitched battle albeit an indirect one for the six divisions in the Secunderabad Assembly constituency.
Mr. Yadav fought for and managed to get tickets to most of the people chosen by him in the constituency and hence, leaving no stone unturned to make things happen.
Ms. Jayasudha too has been on the roads even if on a low scale but with campaign by Y.S. Jagan on the last day, she is hoping to clinch as many seats as possible.
Pending road widening works, bad roads and sanitation are few of civic issues of concern to the people besides, other demands like setting up government junior colleges and others. Local Congress leader Adam Vijaykumar is contesting from Sitaphalmandi while his sister-in-law A. Umadevi is in the fray from the neighbouring Boudhanagar, though both are considered ‘non-locals'. Resentment has been brewing over the family garnering two tickets.
Boudhanagar will also see ex-corporator P. Swarupa Goud of BJP fighting a stiff battle against TDP's ex-corporator K. Narayana's wife K. Vidyavati.
In Chilkalguda, Praja Rajyam's Sarangapani who spoiled Mr. Yadav's chances during the general elections has ensured his wife, Sujata, is in fray.
Other interesting battles are on in Tarnaka where local Congress leader B. Chandra Reddy's wife Kartika is contesting against M. Geeta of TDP but ex-corporator B. Latha of the same party continues to be in fray as a rebel candidate.
