State Budget Session from March 12

More funds for clean and healthy rural Telangana, says Chief Minister

The Budget session of State legislature will be held from March 12, announced Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao here on Tuesday.

Disclosing this at the day-long Collectors’ Conference at Pragati Bhavan, the Chief Minister also said a State-level Finance Commission would be constituted and ₹ 2,000 crore will be allotted in the State Budget for it. The government will provide funds of ₹ 5 lakh for the small panchayats (with less than 500 population) and other panchayats based on their category will be allotted ₹ 10 lakh, ₹ 15 lakh, ₹ 20 lakh and ₹ 25 lakh.

For the local needs of each of the large districts, an amount of ₹ 1.5 crore would be given and ₹ 1 crore each for smaller districts. The government will also utilise the funds from the Central Finance Commission and create assets with NREGA funds. The MLA and MP constituency development funds too can be utilised for the village development. “If we aim and work, clean and healthy rural Telangana is possible,” Chief Minister said.

Sada Bainamas

Giving more directions to the Collectors, Mr. Chandrasehar Rao said in Scheduled and Plain areas where applications were submitted for Sada Bainamas so far, they should be completed. The applications for Sada Bainamas would not be entertained after March 12. Land transfer should be done on either registration or by hereditary mutation.

After new Passbooks were distributed, Pattadars should not pledge their passbooks after March 12 for the bank loans as the details would be available on Dharani website.

The Chief Minister directed the Collectors to monitor the living conditions of the SCs, STs in each district to ensure that the SC/ST Sub Plan funds would not be misused. More programmes for the uplift of SC, ST, BC, Minorities and economically weaker sections, particularly in health and education would be formulated.

The government would supply water to one crore acres of farm land and majority of fields would get water from the Kaleswaram project by the end of December 2018, he said.
