April 27, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Major associations of engineers in the Telangana State power sector formed a joint action committee and held a demonstration on Tuesday, at Vidyut Soudha and other locations, protesting the “adamant and unjust” attitude of the Andhra Pradesh power utilities and the proposal of re-posting of the AP-native employees in Telangana power utilities.

About 2,000 engineers from TSTransco, TSGenco, and TSSPDCL held a demonstration at Vidyut Soudha, while protests were also organised at eight generating stations, and nine branch headquarters of TSSPDCL and TSNPDCL, a communiqué from the JAC informed.

The associations, including Telangana State Power Engineers Association, Telangana State Electricity Assistant Engineers Association, Telangana Power Diploma Engineers Association, and Telangana Vidyut Engineers Association, demanded that the Andhra Pradesh-native employees be absorbed by the AP power utilities, and bring back all the Telangana-native employees working in AP power utilities.
