May 05, 2014 01:03 am | Updated 01:03 am IST - HYDERABAD:

A G.O. on Saturday disqualifying V. Srinivas Goud as president of Telangana Gazetted Officers’ Association has led to cracks within the organisation, with the latter convening an emergency meeting to expel its general secretary, who aspired to take over the reins from him.

The meeting also resolved to urge the government to relax rules to let him continue in the post under a different name.

Mr. Goud had recently quit as GHMC Deputy Commissioner to contest as a TRS candidate from Mahabubnagar. Mr. Goud also sent a letter to the government informing that the executive committee of the association, as per its by-laws, made him the chairman at a meeting on March 8. This was contested by its general secretary Eluri Srinivasa Rao, who told the government stated that no such decision was taken.

In this context, the government issued an order clarifying that Mr. Goud would not associate himself with the association as he ceased to be an employee.
