May 07, 2014 12:59 am | Updated November 17, 2021 12:21 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

The GHMC Commissioner, Somesh Kumar, on Tuesday called for a special drive to clear the debris along the metro rail corridors and re-carpeting of roads wherever barricading has been set up for the Metro works, in view of coming monsoon season.

He suggested a 15-day joint drive by the GHMC, HMR and LTMRHL for the purpose and to ensure free passage for the road users. Mr. Somesh Kumar accompanied by HMR Managing Director N.V.S.Reddy inspected some of the alignment stretches and also viaduct piers along the Begumpet flyover.

He also agreed for construction of piers along the bridge over the nala here and suggested working out alternatives for diversion of traffic, either through a temporary road over the nala or using newly formed link road, according to a press release.
