Brand ambassador for OGTS, Ganguly was also associated with One Nation One Card, which ran into trouble after cases were registered against its MD

For someone who faced the fury of the best of bowlers across the world with ease, Sourav Ganguly had to play the waiting game when he came to the city on Friday as the brand ambassador of One Gateway Techno Services (OGTS), which is planning to offer ‘identity management’ services.

CEO of OGTS Vishwanath Sivaswamy claimed that his company was coming up with a ‘unique project’ which could provide a single identity to a citizen which could be used for all transactions.

Fielding a volley of questions on the authenticity of such a project, Mr. Sivaswamy stressed that his company would only standardise identity management facilitating a person to carry a single identity card instead of multiple identities in the form of driving licence, passport, aadhar card etc.

The former India skipper too fielded many questions. Sourav, however, was non-committal in his replies to pointed queries.

“You are not responsible as an individual for what a company or someone else does. For me, One Card is a thing of the past,” he maintained.

“I told them clearly that I will not be part of anything which questions one’s integrity itself,” he asserted.

“We want to integrate all these into a single identity using technology,” the CEO claimed while announcing the launch of the company.

To a query, he said OGTS would utilise technologies adopted by another Hyderabad-based company — One Nation One Card (ONOC). The ONOC ran into trouble after cases were registered against its MD. Incidentally, Sourav Ganguly was also the brand ambassador of ONOC.
