Social audit for road repair works stressed

A total of 120 special teams constituted for the purpose

GHMC Commissioner B.Janardhan Reddy stressed on the need to have social audit for the ongoing road maintenance and repair works.

While addressing a review meeting on the ongoing engineering works in GHMC on Tuesday, Mr. Reddy said a total of 172 road repair works have been taken up with a sanction of ₹22.73 crore.

A total of 120 special teams constituted for the purpose of filling of potholes on the roads have filled 23,095 potholes between April and August months, he informed.

Desilting works to the tune of ₹28.6 crore have been sanctioned, of which 78 per cent have been finished.

Mr. Reddy asked the officials to accord the highest priority to grievance redressal, by addressing various complaints through GHMC call centre, social media and different Apps.

He also asked them to take up the works of ‘she-toilets’ soon.

Municipal Chief Engineer Mohd. Ziauddin, Additional Commissioners Kennedy, Ravi Kiran, and Bhaskarachari attended the meeting along with superintendent engineers, and executive engineers.
