The National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC) has introduced a three-month course on GST for minorities. After acquiring the know-how about GST and its implementation, the youth, with their new skill, are expected to help small-time traders with the new form of taxation system.

Speaking at the inauguration of Annual Conference of SCAs (State Channelising Agencies) on Saturday, Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said a total of 100 skill development centres would be launched across the country in future. He said the courses would be career-oriented and around 6,000 would receive certificates in various skills in the next three months. Talking about the short-term course on GST, he said the trained youngsters could help clear confusion among the trader community about the GST and also do their bit in its smooth implementation.

At the event, Kaamyabiyan , a compilation of success stories of the beneficiaries of NMDFC schemes, was released. Deputy Chief Minister Md Mahmood Ali appealed to Mr. Naqvi to release scholarships to all the minority students of pre-matriculation. Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya said since TS had high Muslim population, more funds should be released for State minorities’ corporation.
