The State police have not yet been able to establish the identity of any terror group behind the Dilsukhnagar twin blasts but many clues are being pursued and the investigators are questioning some suspects, Director General of Police (DGP) V. Dinesh Reddy has said. The February 21 blasts claimed 16 lives and injured more than 100 people.
Speaking to media persons at the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate here on Thursday, Mr. Reddy maintained that the investigation was progressing on the right correct lines. He said it was a multi-agency investigation with officials from Hyderabad and Cyberabad Commissionerates, Crime Investigation Department (CID), Counter Intelligence (CI) Cell, National Investigating Agency (NIA), Intelligence Bureau (IB) and National Security Guard (NSG) participating in it.
“These investigations are not time-bound and if there is any breakthrough, we will certainly let you know,” he said.
The police were preparing sketches of suspects based on the inputs provided by injured persons and eyewitnesses. They would be released shortly, Mr. Reddy asserted.
When his attention was drawn to the harassment being faced by some youth in the name of interrogation, the DGP said investigators were summoning youth for questioning only.
Asked whether or not Syed Maqbool, the alleged operative of Indian Mujahideen who is in jail, was involved in the blasts, Mr. Reddy advised the media not to speculate.
