Skeletal remains of a 40-year-old woman were found in bushes at Shamshabad on Tuesday.

Some land owners noticed the skeletal remains and alerted the police who rushed to the spot. “We can ascertain the cause of the death only after getting an autopsy report,” RGIA Inspector D. Durga Prasad said.

Empty toddy sachets were found at the spot.

Some persons known to the victim could have killed her after consuming toddy, police said.

A case of suspicious death under section 174 of CrPc has been booked.

Two women robbed

Two robbers took away seven tolas of gold from two women at Shankerpuram in Shamshabad on Tuesday.

Sumalatha and Lavanya were alone in the house when the two posing as ornament polishers approached them. When the women gave the gold for polishing, the duo put the ornaments in a container along with water and chemical, closed the lid and asked them to open it after 10 minutes and left. When the women opened the lid, the gold was missing, police said.
