Six persons killed in road accidents

Six persons were killed in road accidents in and around the city on Wednesday and Thursday.

Two persons riding a bike were killed when a speeding water tanker hit them near Mallanna temple in Dundigal police station area. M. Gopal (26) and his friend P. Shankar (31) set out from Gandi Mysamma junction on Wednesday night when the accident occurred. Death was instant for Gopal while Shankar succumbed to his injuries on Thursday morning while undergoing treatment in a hospital. Both hailed from Enolu village of Dundigal.

K. Sai Kumar (22) died when the two-wheeler he was riding hit against the median on Ghatkesar main road on Wednesday night. He was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. A newspaper delivery boy, D. Shekhar (19) died while his friend, B. Rakesh (13) sustained critical wounds when the bicycle they were travelling on was hit by a private bus in L.B. Nagar on Thursday morning. A car driver B. Parashuram (27) who was hit by a motorcyclist two days ago near Sharada wines in L.B. Nagar, succumbed to his injuries in hospital on Thursday. Qamarunnisa Begum, 57, who suffered serious wounds, six days ago when an Innova car rammed the Scooty she was riding pillion on, died on Thursday in a hospital. The accident occurred on March 22 when her daughter Umerunnisa was riding the two-wheeler at Puppalaguda. Umerrunnisa is recovering.
