Six die as lorry turns turtle on ghat road in Kadapa district

Six migrant construction workers were killed and 10 others were injured when a mini-lorry they were travelling to Bengaluru dashed against a boulder and overturned on Guvvalacheruvu ghat road in Kadapa district around Wednesday midnight.

The mini-lorry was carrying 26 workers belonging to Prakasam and East Godavari districts and Odisha to work in construction of multi-storeyed apartments at Bengaluru, when the mishap occurred, police said. Two of the deceased were identified as Adam, 28, of Pamarru in Prakasam district and Nandini, 24, of East Godavari district.

Four persons died on the spot and one succumbed to injuries in an ambulance while being shifted to hospital and another after admission to RIMS hospital. Ten injured workers were rushed to RIMS hospital in Kadapa. Ramapuram police registered a case.
