Site engineer held on graft charge

A site engineer working on contract basis with Rajiv Vidya Mission in Parigi division of Ranga Reddy district has been arrested by the Anti Corruption Bureau officials for allegedly accepting Rs.20,000 bribe from a person on Friday.

The accused, Shaik Ibrahim, was caught at Moosapet when he received the bribe, ACB Deputy Superintendent of Police I.Venkateswarlu said. He tested positive when subjected to a chemical test and the tainted amount was recovered from him.

Ibrahim is one of the contract employees of the Mission and in-charge of construction work taken up in five mandals of Parigi division. A contractor, the complainant had constructed a primary school building at Mettuguda tanda in Doma mandal with a cost of Rs.5.06 lakh.

He had been paid Rs.4.16 lakh. The site engineer demanded the bribe to issue utilisation certificate for the building so that the contractor can claim the remaining Rs.90,000.
