The L. B. Nagar police registered a murder case against seven minors for their involvement in the killing of a ninth standard student at Hasthinapuram after he reportedly posted adverse comments on facebook about a girl. The police are making efforts to nab them.

The police said that the teenager, G. Praveen, 14, was attacked by a group of minor boys led by a tenth standard student of another school after he allegedly posted adverse comments on facebook about a girl.

The boy who was a friend of the girl came to know about it and confronted Praveen on Saturday at Hasthinapuram. An argument ensued between them after which the minor and his friends attacked Praveen, the police said.

Praveen collapsed on the ground and was rushed to a private hospital where he was declared brought dead. “We have registered a murder case and are investigating. We will soon arrest all those involved,” said E. Srinivas Reddy, Inspector, L. B. Nagar.
