Seven killed as two SUVs collide on NH 44

Seven persons were killed and four others injured when two SUVs collided near Kommireddipally village in Addakal police station limits of Mahabubnagar district on Tuesday morning.

According to Kothakota Inspector D. Kishan, the accident occurred when a Tavera vehicle bound for Naigaon in Nanded district of Maharashtra went out of control and hit the divider and rammed into an Innova coming in the opposite direction on NH 44.

Six persons travelling in the Tavera died on the spot. Another passenger of the Innova too died instantaneously. The victims from Maharashtra were returning to their native place after a pilgrimage to Tirupati.

The six Maharashtrians aged between 30 and 40 years were identified as Balraj Jadhav, Raju, Shankar, Muthali Venkat Rao, Sunil Karnekar, and Balaji Pothedhar. Tavera driver Ganesh and another occupant Shivadas were injured. Police said the Innova was going to Thrissur in Kerala. It was tragic death for Sindhu (38), whose husband Faizal, owner-cum-driver of the vehicle, was at the wheel. Due to the impact of the Tavera crashing into the Innova, death was instantaneous for her while Faizal and his son Asheem sustained injuries.

Two die in Medak

A report from Sangareddy said two persons were killed in a road accident at Budhera in Medak district. According to police, a Karantaka RTC bus hit a motorcycle going to Zaheerabad. Gopala Rao (25) of Begumbazar and another person died on the spot.
