The Society for Employment Promotion and Training in Twin Cities (Setwin) plans to operate its buses on routes linked to the Metro Rail stations. It has also appealed to the government to sanction 100 buses to cater to the transport needs of the public, in the process employing about 1,000 youth.

Newly-appointed Setwin chairman Mohd. Masood Ahmed said all efforts were being made to expand the activities of the society. Many new courses had been introduced at Setwin training centres across the State, he said.

Mr. Masood said the society would soon be training families of police personnel at all 15 APSP Battalion campuses across the State in various short-term and job-oriented courses.

He said an enquiry committee would probe alleged irregularities in the bus services.

Tickets to be issued

Mr. Masood said it was proposed to issue tickets to passengers in all the 99 Setwin mini buses plying on 57 routes in the city.
