Tollywood director Sekhar Kammula’s latest bilingual venture Anaamika is likely to hit the screens on Dasara this year. The director is currently filming with the cast at Murgi Market, Choodi Bazaar, Sultan Bazaar, Charminar and Begum Bazaar in the city and plans to complete shooting by mid-July.

The film is slated for release in Tamil and Telugu as well. Anaamika also marks the debut of Sekhar Kammula in Tamil cinema. Kammula’s first film Dollar Dreams was a critical success and won him the National Film Award for best debutant director.

A press release issued by actor Nayantara, who plays the lead role in the movie, said, “It’s an honour to have worked with a critically-acclaimed and award-winning director like Sekhar. I am thrilled to be a part of this project which gave me an opportunity to play the lead protagonist of a strong female character. With a completely new look in Anaamika, I hope that the audiences would appreciate the film and my role.”
