South Central Railway (SCR) will be focussing on completing all the ongoing foot over bridges as well as widening platforms for proper crowd management in addition to eliminating all the unmanned level crossings by next year end as part of the safety first mission.

General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav during a video-conference with his top divisional managers pointed out that Railway Minister Piyush Goyal is personally monitoring the safety related developments.

On site inspections for even small incidents should be taken up, employees should be counselled on the need to be vigilant at all times and all safety related works should be accorded highest importance, he said.

Appreciating the functioning of the employees facilitation hub opened inside Rail Nilayam, the GM wanted similar centres to be set up in all divisional offices. He also presented ‘Men of the month’ awards to 16 staff members for being alert in their work and taking timely action thus preventing unsafe conditions.
