SCR proposes to build 100 RuBs/RoBs

MPs review proposed projects

SCR was awaiting the consent of the State government for constructing 100 Road Under Bridges (RUBs) and Road Over Bridges (ROBs) as part of the overall safety plan at all level crossings. Steps have been initiated to establish the wagon workshop at Kazipet, SCR General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav informed MPs on Wednesday.

At a meeting held in Rail Nilayam, he said new railway line projects between Karimnagar-Nizamabad, Jaggayyapet-Mellacheruvu- Janpahad, Devarakadra-Jacklair, Bidar-Gulbarga have been completed. MMTS Phase-II project would be completed by the end of 2018 while the Cherlapalli, Lingampalli and Nagalapalli railway stations would be developed as terminal stations to decongest the existing stations. Some 20 MPs from Telangana, Maharashtra and Karnataka attended the meeting along with top railway officials. New lines, introduction of new trains, extension of existing train services, additional stoppages to existing trains and improved passenger amenities, among others, have been sought by the MPs, a press release said.
